Chinese company, Huawei is preparing android handset but we had no clue on when the plans to release its first device to run on Google’s open source mobile platform.

Huawei is the second China company to join OHA after country’s largest operator, China Mobile and was one of the 14 companies including Garmin International and Vodafone who joined the Open Handset Alliance last week.

Huawei Technologies has announced plans to launch one or more Android phones sometime in the third quarter of 2009.

Besides HTC’s Dream and Kogan Technologies’ Agora, which will hit Australia on January 29, there are another Android based phones that will be delivered in the Australian region later next year. According to the CNET reports android handsets will be released in Australia but I think Huawei intends to offer them in lots of other countries not just china.

The price of the Huawei android handsets are unknown.
