I have a great privilege of having an internet enabled computer in my home (it means a lot) and I have never hesitated in exploring the huge world of web (although I hesitated to pay the broadband bill). I was very fascinated with this thing called internet and a time came when it started to interfere with my social life.
Friends are not important to live but they nevertheless are important. So , I made some international friends on IM networks and the result of it was that I started to feel smart and unlucky at the same time. I felt lucky because I knew more about web than my cyber friends and I felt unlucky because broadband connection in India is still 256 kbps while my friends get speeds up to 8 Mbps. I don’t want to whine so I will stick to my smartness. I promote Firefox amongst my peer circle so enthusiastically that they have now started to doubt that I am paid by Firefox. I love Firefox and I made an aim in my life to educate people about what web browsing means on Firefox.

Unfortunately 53% of readers who come to Realgeek use Internet Explorer and nothing hurts me more than that. I am rather very surprised that users still prefer Internet Explorer over Mozilla Firefox. But this is a trend which is true for most websites. I for one and all would like to pen down why Firefox is better so that users can correct their mistake of browsing on Internet Explorer.
First of all, Internet explorer is more about pop-ups than about browsing, any person who doesn’t like stupid annoyances should refrain from using IE.
Another thing is that all the viruses are custom made for Internet Explorer ( or to put it other way, IE is not secure) so you pose a greater danger to your system security by using it for software downloads or worse economic transactions. You have little freedom on IE and you hardly find any decent plug-in for IE. Stumbleupon is an exception with some others but the number of plug-ins for Firefox completely overshadows that of IE. The development of Internet Explorer has been almost standstill for many years while much water has flown down the Thanes of internet.
Firefox is great because it was one of the first web browser to give tabbed browsing to its users. The free yet best web browser can be customized the way you want.
There are thousands themes and add-ons which make browsing on Firefox a complete delight. The best thing is that it is supported by the Open Source community and the developers around the world work hard to keep Firefox sexy and kicking.
My love for Firefox is proportional to the degree of hatred I have for IE and I think you must be on Microsoft’s payroll to love Internet Explorer. Get Firefox if you don’t have it yet.

and what about Opera? I think they had tabbed browsing first. And, Safari is a good browser too…I use Safari, Firefox And Opera, but IE, never!

Thanks for your comment Steven
Opera is a great web browser as well but it misses dearly because of the huge repository of add-ons that developers have created for firefox. safari is another very cool web browser but the funny thing about it is that some of its must-have plug-ins are not free. it’s bookmark system is nevertheless the best.
the tabbed browsing was started by iBrowse and then followed by Opera and Firefox. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tabbed_browsing
