Apple iPhone has raised our expectations multiple times and we have started to expect it to perform every single task that we do on our desktops. Some people even unsuccessfully try to use their iPhone to do their jobs just like this guy did. The high expectations from smartphones is unreasonable and I think we are still far from those smartphones which can replace our desktops.

That being said it doesn’t mean we shouldn’t rely on our smartphones and particularly from iPhones once in a while to do some menial tasks such as create to-do list, manage your finances and pay your bills etc. Thanks to the huge repository of apps for iPhone you can certainly use the iPhone as one productivity tool if not your desktop. Here’s a list of some of the productivity apps for iPhone 3GS.

1. HiTask is an application you might like to use if you have to manage your team or project. HiTask is essentially a free web-based task management application which allows you to share tasks and projects with the team and assign tasks to team members. It also happens to have a to-lists feature which is although provided by many other apps but it makes better sense if it’s incorporated as a secondary feature rather than a primary app. It has a mobile as well as desktop version which have more advanced features such as drag-n-drop.

2. Torch Project Management is an amazing and highly recommended for someone who works in the line of work where you have to stay connected with colleagues, clients and suppliers. The beauty of Torch Project Management lies in the fact that you can attach Messages, E-mails, Files, Events, Tasks, Google Docs, Time Tracking, Bids and Invoices. Its latest version also supports Time and financial data visualization, support for Google Visualization API as a data source.

3. 1Password is one application you don’t wanna leave if you use your iPhone to browse scores of websites and blogs everyday. It works just like its parent version for Mac OSX and that is to spare you the trouble to remember all the passwords on various sites. If you have lose or forget your passwords often then I don’t need to say much about its effectiveness.

4. Easy Bill lets you do do invoicing from your iPhone. You can use this application to track and record charges, send invoices, add and edit contacts. Neat.

5. Groups: Drag & Drop Contacts Management brings to iPhone what Apple couldn’t provide. This applications lets you manage your contacts as easily as drag-n-drop. This is a crucial app if you like to keep your contacts list well managed.
