iRiver To Launch Mobile Phone

iRiver which is known for the personal media players, has recently announced that it will bring its first cellphone handset in the markets by March of 2009. The new iriver phone will be available from Korean carrier KT. The iriver phone concept had been previously spotted by many at CES 2008, but at the time iriver claimed the phone was just a concept.

The new iRiver cellphone has a metal look which looks pretty techno to us while it will features a pad as a controlling device.



We don’t have its full specs yet but the phone will have large touchscreen as we can see in the pictures with handwriting recognition along with a Wi-Fi connection. More details will unfurl in coming weeks. The phone was showcased at CES 2008 but the company had then merely claimed that it is just a concept.

We just know that it has Internal storage is 4GB, expanded via miniSD, and the handset comes preloaded with access to the Bugs Music Service for on-device media downloads.

The media player can handle MP3, WMA, OGG and MPEG 1/2/2.5 audio files, and MPEG-4 (30fps 480 x 272) video files. The wave measures 110.5 x 52.5 x 15.5mm and weighs in at 103g.  Pricing unknown as of now.
