LG KS500 has been announced now and it has calmed dwon thge rumors that were spreading the blogosphere about it being based on Windows or Android. It is a slider phone with nothing fancy and it is NOT a smartphone as some of the blogs claimed earlier. And if it’s not a smartphone then Windows or Android platfroom is out of the question.There is nothing spectacular about the phone except that it is LG’s first handset with optical touchpad which the company believes helps in web browsing. Other than that, it is has a QVGA display with 256k colors and 3 mp fixed focus camera. It has an 100MB of built-in memory and a microSD card with support for an addition 8GB. It is a tri-band GSM phone which offers dual-band UMTS/HSDPA support and A-GPS connectivity.

The price is not known yet but expect it to be southwards.
