LG U830 HSDPA Cellphone : Another Chocolate
There’s no doubt that the LG Chocolate is this years hottest and famous mobile phone brands. LG has followed its style on various other handsets including the 3G LG KU800, and the LG U830 depicts its features and coolness. The LG U830 will be 3G clamshell phone, which is exclusive to the Hutchison 3 network.
The LG U830 is an HSDPA device - this means that it has access to 3’s 3.5G data network (where available). There’s a whopping 180Mb of internal memory (although it doesn’t seem to be expandable), a 2 megapixel main camera with a subcamera for video calling, a large 2.2″ 240×320 pixel display, a multimedia player and stereo Bluetooth. There’s an email client and web browser too.
You can connect the LG U830 to a PC via a USB cable or Bluetooth to transfer multimedia files, or you can download them from the 3Music store.
Talktime is up to 3.2 hours on 3G, and it has almost 14 days standby time. which is pretty good. Overall the LG U830 measures 98 x 48 x 14.8mm and it comes in under the magic 100 grams weight for a 3G phone at 93 grams.

The sleek folder handset now comes with a QVGA screen, a revamped user interface, and support for HSDPA high-speed data. It is a pity that there is still no external memory card slot, but on the up side LG has kept U830’s thickness at 14.8mm, which is excellent for a 3.5G folder. Notice that the external screen has been enlarged to 128×160 pixels, which is a smart move back to the good old days with handsets like the LG U8380. The external display measures 1.3″ diagonally and together with the red touch-sensitive music buttons on the outside of the flip, the U830 looks great in dark.
A 2.0 megapixel camera is on board to capture life going by, and viewing your photos is a pleasure thanks to the 2.2″ QVGA TFT internal display. LG has included 185MB of on board memory, but this only goes a short way to alleviating the need for a memory card slot. The device is already being sold through network operator 3 in Italy, Hong Kong, and the UK, but so far no other markets have been announced.
