LG officially announced the LG Viewty Smart II or also popularly known as LG GC900. It’s pretty much exactly what we expected and it has been obvious for quite some time, that it has to be the newer upgrade to the Viewty phone, this phone features a touchscreen and several other smartphone features.

LG Viewty Smartphone has an 8 Megapixel autofocus camera with Schneider-Kreuznach lens. LG gave this phone an Intelligent Shot Mode which automatically analyzes scenes and lighting conditions in order to adjust the camera settings.
The company says that this mode “completely eliminates the need to check settings before taking a photo.”

Featuring an 8 megapixel camera with a Schneider-Kreuznach lens, the Viewty Smart will be able to take pictures at up to 1600 ISO and record videos in “DVD-quality” with DivX and XviD playback to boot. And also Multi-Face Detection, Touch Shot, Panorama Shot, Beauty Shot, Art Shot, Continuous Shot, DVD Quality D1 video recording and LED flash yes there’s no Xenon Flash in the second generation Viewty although the first has it. Other than that, a 3 inches touchscreen display with WVGA resolution, 7.2Mbps HSDPA, aGPS, Wi-Fi and the rather interesting 3D S-Class UI round out the rest of the 12.4mm thin package.
With 3G support, a microSDHC card slot that can hold 32GB and on board storage of 1.5GB, you have plenty of room for all your media.
According to LG, Europeans will be the first to get a crack at the Viewty Smart this May and sometime after that it will start to trickle out across the globe. Pricing has not yet been made available. Hit the jump for a few more pics along with a promotional video.
LG GC900 Viewty Smart will hit the market in May, via several European carriers Orange is probably one of them, since we saw the phone with its logo on it.
