Mio Unveils Explora K70 Touchscreen Phone

Mio, the Taiwanese manufacturer of various mobile devices, has recently announced its first 3.5G  powered GPS phone the Mio Explora K70. Powered by Windows Mobile 6.1, this smartphone features a 3.5-inch WQVGA transmissive TFT touchscreen display and GPS and aGPS integration to help users find their way on the road or off.

The Explora K70 has quad-band GSM (850/900/1800/1900MHz) support and tri-band UMTS (850/1900/2100MHz) support with HSDPA for high-speed data connectivity. It also has WiFi for fast connections over local networks.

The Explora K70 has Qualcomm’s GPS One receiver onboard for the latest in global positioning technology. Users can geo-tag photos taken with the smartphone’s 3 megapixel camera and save them to the device’s microSD external card slot. The K70 also supports Bluetooth A2DP for use with stereo headsets.

Mio has not yet released information on pricing or availability, but according to Cnet there are no current plans to release the K70 in America.
