
The Nokia 5800 Express Music phone has been unveiled yesterday in London. The new Nokia 5800 Express Music is the first touch screen phone based on Symbian S60 platform. Nokia 5800 has support for this service called Comes With Music which allows users access to the Nokia Music Store. They provide buyers one year unlimited access or downloads from their catalogue in the first year of ownership. Nokia has collaborated with Sony BMG, Warner Music Group, EMI, and Universal Music Group to make this Comes with Music service possible.
The Nokia 5800 Express Music phone claim to fame is definitely its music capabilities but it has some other stuff as well. A 3.2 megapixel auto focus camera which boasts of Carl-Zeiss optics and dual LED flash is there for the shutterbug in you. The 5800 is a small device with a large screen that measures 3.2 inches diagonally with upto 16 million colors. It has 81 MB of internal memory and it comes with an 8 GB Micro SD card as standard equipment while it supports memory cards upto 16GB.
Nokia Tube, as it was being called before the launch supports 60 different languages so people around the world can use this phone. Other standard features are TV out functionality, photo editor, document viewer, Clear Phone Speaker and Bluetooth etc. Other than that it has an automatic screen rotation, a full dedicated keypad for fast messaging and hand recognition. It also comes with “Media Bar” a drop down menu that gives you access to music and entertainment, like favorite tracks, videos and photos. The media bar also offers a direct link to the web and to online sharing. This music centric handset is targeted towards the music lovers and it will be available for buyers in 2009.
