Nokia has released three brand new ‘Classic’ handsets yesterday, the Nokia 6700, 6303 and 2700 Classic and the selling point of all of them would be their sheer simplicity and easy user interface. Don’t mistake the word Classic as something archaic because they all boast jaw-dropping specs in their individual segments.

The Nokia 6700 classic is the successor of the Nokia 6300 classic and it boasts built in GPS assisted navigation, high speed (3G) internet access and a 5 megapixel camera for quick snaps. It comes with smooth surfaces, rich materials and precisely crafted parts with a full metal keymat. The phone has a 2.2-inch QVGA (240 x 320 pixels) TFT screen, a stereo FM radio and a starting price tag of approximately $300.

The Nokia 6303 class is a slightly lower specification model with the 3.2 megapixel camera. This model boasts a 2.2-inch screen combined with the promise of excellent battery life (up to 450 hours stand-by). This model is designed and targeted for the youth as it can be used as an MP3 player as well. The price wold be around $175.

And finally the Nokia 2700 classic comes with a large 2GB storage card installed in a microSD memory card slot. It has integrated digital music player and a 2.0 megapixel camera but boasts the same audio compatibility as the 6303, selling for a little less at approximately $85.

It is expected that they will be in markets by the Q2 of 2009. I am fairly impressed with Nokia 6700 Classic and I would love to lay my hands on this cool looking phone.
