Nokia 6760 Slide has been unveiled by Nokia in Europe. Nokia 6760 Slide derives a lot from its elder sibling Nokia Surge which was announced few weeks back in USA. In spite of our not so friendly views about the slider phones from Nokia we’d love to try out this one. The design of Nokia 6760 Slide is almost identical to Nokia Surge while it’s also evident that some inspiration has also been taken from the Nokia 5800 Xpress Music Edition.

The specifications of Nokia 6760 Slide are cool and it’d easily qualify as the phone I’d love to buy. Let’s start with the 2.4 inches 320×240 pixels screen which can shower your eyes with upto 16 million colors. The most interesting thing about it is its full QWERTY keyboard which sort of pits it against some of the basic phones of Nokia E series. It has an internal memory of 128 MB which is okay considering that you can expand it upto 8GB using a microSD card. The 2GB card wold be included with the handset in all possibility.

Now coming to the next most important thing (at least for me) is the data transfer and internet. It supports 3G, GPRS, EDGE, USB and Bluetooth v2.0. I couldn’t have asked for more in this department. The camera at 3.15 megapixel sound pretty good but I’d be missing the secondary camera although I am not someone who is really fond of video calling.
The other important thing that I look for in any handset is GPS and Nokia 6760 Slide does fulfill my wish there too. It has a A-GPS with Nokia Maps Support. I hardly use Nokia Maps by the way. Somehow I find Google Maps lot more easy.

To make long story short, Nokia 6760 Slide has everything that I’d ever need and if it launches in India I’d be the first person to buy it if only Nokia doesn’t mess up with pricing. Till then Europeans can have their Nokia 6760 Slide while Americans can have their Nokia Surge. You got lucky this time.
