We posted some pics of Nokia N81 unboxing few days back and promised to tell you more about it in a detailed review. I have been using Nokia N81 for 4 days now and one word that does justice about this phone is “Impressive.” Almost everything about this phone is cool and and we finally have a good slider phone from Nokia.

N81 is a stylish device with better multimedia capabilities. Nokia N81 was an important launch because Nokia wanted to make its presence re-felt in the portable gaming niche with N-Gage 2.0 gaming platform. Nokia N81 is the first gaming device of this platform with dedicated keys on the top. The supported gaming titles like One, FIFA 2008 and Asphalt are fun to play and will satisfy most of the gamers.
The first thing I noticed about it being its two speakers which produces loud music in comparison to that of Nokia N73 Music edition. The high quality screen with 16.7 million colours and 320 x 240 pixel resolution is pretty clear. The grip of the phone is solid too and the slider adds a sexy appeal to it.

The S60 3rd edition deice has WiFi, Bluetooth, Radio, Music Player and other host of features like web browser etc. Web Browsing on Nokia N81 was okay and it would have been great had we not spoiled our hands on Apple iPhone which provides best browsing experience so far.
The only disappointing thing in this gorgeous phone is its digital camera with mere 2 megapixel and no autofocus. All things said, if camera is your priority in the mobile phone you want to buy then it’s not for you. Nokia N81 definitely has its own following and the people who’ll buy this are the ones who don’t mind some fun along with cool music experience in their mobile devices.
I love it for its look and calling it one of the most beautiful mobile phone Nokia has ever launched won’t be an exaggeration.

wow… i hope this means the devices coming out are better quality than the ones 9 months ago. My N81 was the first nokia ever i was let down by. Not only did the build quality feel cheap from day 1, the unit has started ro come apart despite the fact that i hardle ever carry it with me. Half center button and a piece of game button has fallen off, the call button does not work, neither does the scrollpad. The camera is dead 90% of time, and trying to read a msg often freezes the unit until i remone the battery. The plastic is scratched, while my nokia 6267 I’ve had much longer and have carried in my pocket constantly has hardly a scratch on it.
I bought e71 as i didn’t feel like dealing with a cracked unreliable brick in my pocket. Couldn’t be happier. i doubt i will ever own another N-series phone, and will stick to e- and 6000 series from now on. What REALLY bothers me is seeing the plastic bars entering the 6000-series which I have always counted on to be best possible quality
my game button at the top has cum owt n i am not HAPPY!!!! were can i go 2 get it fixed n ani ruff ideaz on cost .. . nokia needs 2 sort its head owt this fone isa let down!!
