The Samsung Alias 2 surfaced sometime at the end of March with only few details known. Now, it is official and is actually set to release in less than two weeks from now. Obviously, this is the successor of the Samsung Alias, bearing the same dual-hinged design.
Aside from that two-way swiveling mechanism, this also has “Magic Key Keypad” which actually shows magic as it transforms itself from a regular alphanumeric keypad to a full QWERTY keyboard. It uses the e-ink technology, so in phone mode, you could see the standard keypad while in messaging mode, the keys magically transform into a four-row QWERTY keypad.
Other than the unusual yet interesting keypad design, this also features 2.6-inch QVGA display, Bluetooth and 2-megapixel camera. This also has dedicated hot keys for one touch access to your most used features and applications.
The exact release date of this Samsung Alias 2 would be on May 11 and will be launched by Verizon, though pricing still remains unknown.
