Sequence is a great new affordable software that your can use to take screenshots and screencasts on your mac. This software has unique ability to paint on the screen. You can also paint while you want to take the screenshot or screencast. Apart from that you can even paint this during a recording.

You can choose the size and color of the brush stroke. Screen shots are very easy to take. Just align the box around the area of interest and click the scissors icon.
