Skyfire Beta Released For Blackberry Smartphones

The beta version of popular Skyfire mobile web browser has bee nlaunched for BlackBerry devices. The new beta offers several enhancements over its alpha version. Keyboard shortcuts and contextual zooming has been added and zooming speeds have been improved. Skyfire can also be used as default web browser on Blackberry.

Skyfire has brought support for Flash 10, Silverlight, JavaScript, AJAX, and Quicktime to Windows Mobile and Symbian devices, making sites like Hulu accessible for the first time on some smartphones.

The text can now be input without having to zoom in the webpage. Unlike Alpha 2, the page displays text at all zoom levels, without any redrawing of the screen. The beta version is much better than alpha but its still has some bugs which should be resolved in the upcoming updates.
