Sling Media Acquired in $380 Million

EchoStar Communications have acquired Sling Media in $380 million, they have clearly indicated the plan to segregate its operation in two publicly traded corporations, one likely being to continue the Dish satellite TV service. Another hand of the company will manage EchoStar’s technology, assets and Sling Media.

EchoStar was also an early investor in Sling Media, Sling Box manufacturer that allows subscribers to watch shows available on their home TV sets using Internet. Sling Media is also making way towards the mobile applications, currently they have a version of its service for Windows Mobile devices.This acquisition also makes the way for new and creative development of new services for their subscribers.
