Sony Ericcson W705 Walkman Phone To Be Announced Today

It’s not official yet but SERCBlog has confirmed that there will be an announcement from Sony Ericsson about the release of Sony Ericsson W705 later today.

Sony Ericsson W705 Walkman is a music phone of the Walkman series and it would gel well with latest portable speaker MBS-900, which will also will be revealed to the public during the launch. MBS-900 is a 2.1 wireless speaker with Bluetooth support, touch controls and OLED display. It was also called ‘Rika’.

Leaked information about its technical specs reveals that the Sony Ericsson W705 is just a medium Walkman series handset encased in an aluminum compound. The new slider form handset bears the same Clear Audio Experience function, which improves the quality of music played. This feature was also available in earlier Walkman phones like W902 and W980 handsets.

According to the leaked information the new slider phone is equipped with a 240 by 320 pixel resolution TFT Display, 3.2 mega pixel camera, Wi-Fi and GPS connectivity.

Sony Ericsson W705 is said to have 120MB of built-in memory, expandable via M2 card slot. The retail package will sport a 4GB card. It is expected to reach markets in february 2009.
