Sony Ericsson has unveiled a mid range bar shaped handset called C510 Cyber-shot phone. Sony Ericsson was developing this phone under the codename of Kate.

The C510 has an integrated 3.2 megapixel camera with auto-focus which has face detection capabilities and incorporates Smile Shutter technology. Users can browse the photos in landscape and portrait view by simply rotating the handset, then adjust the light balance, brightness and contrast simultaneously via Photo Fix. It also sports GPRS, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP as well as USB connectivity. And, it does have 3G.

The new Sony Ericsson C510 comes with a 160 MB built-in memory but details are vague on the memory card support. Kate also comes with direct blog shortcut key, dedicated shutter key and blue illuminated imaging shortcuts.

The C510 is poised to hit markets in March-April. It will be available Future Black and Radiation Silver colors. Price is not know yet but we believe it shouldn’t cost much.

The Sony Ericsson C510 is a budget C902. To most people it’s affordable. The 3.2 mp camera gives good pictures even there is no xenon flash. Despite the lack of GPS, the C510 is not nonsense because it’s a very capable camera phone. It features a typical Sony Ericsson looks, and I don’t think it looks as solid built as many other people said it to be. The scratch-resistant display is better than its plastic cover.
