In yet another development, Sony Ericsson has launched a new walkman series phone called W508. It comes in a stylish clamshell and looks uncannily similar to W980. The main feature of W508 is of course Style-Up™ covers. W508 has two main colours Metal Grey and Poetic White and 8 special Style-Up™ covers.

The W508 also includes popular Walkman™ features such as SensMe™ for matching the playing music to your mood. It also has dedicated touch keys on top to play, stop and skip tracks.

The W508 features a 3.2 megapixel camera, HSDPA and EDGE data support and Bluetooth stereo for wireless listening. A 1GB M2 memory card and an extra Style-Up cover are included in the sales package. The phone is pretty small in size at 93.5 x 50 x 14 mm in measurements while it weighs 98 grams.

The base W508 will support quad-band GSM/EDGE connections and UMTS/HSDPA on the 2100MHz band, while the W508a for the Americas will have additional support for UMTS and HSDPA on the 850 and 1900MHz bands.
The Sony Ericsson W508 Walkman Phone will be available in the second quarter of 2009 in select markets.
