Advertisements for Free iPhone Applications

Wednesday, July 16th, 2008 |

Since iPhone is an opportunity that no developer would like to miss so we have seen a bumper start in App Store. 552 apps from day one is mind blowing while doling out applications for free can be understood if its based on some website but what about those apps which are not based on any existing web based community or site?

A company called Medialets now wants to jump in the iPhone frenzy by providing free ad supported applications in the Apple iPhone App store. Medialets will provide an interface between the developer and the advertiser so that developers can earn by adding advertisements in their applications. Medialets will also provide Medialytics, an analytics product to provide statsitics of iPhone app users to their developers. The company will collaborate with developers in creating ads in such a manner that it does not obfuscate the user.

OmniFocus : This application received the gold for best iPhone productivity application and a close look at the features is enough to get the idea about its prowess. It lets you create to do lists and task management. For instance, if you have made an entry of buying bread in your Omnifocus to- do list then it will automatically inform you whenever you’ll get close to the location of some bakery. Google Talk Messenger for iPhone

Friday, July 4th, 2008 |

Apple iPhone is definitely the talk of the town with developers geared up to create applications that can be run on an iPhone. Google has now launched Google Talk which can be accessed on an iPhone without having to download or install anything.

You can use Gtalk in Safari browser itself by logging on www.google.com/talk. There are however few differences in the iPhone version of gtalk from its PC counterpart.

Your chat session is refreshed when you return on to it from other tab. Gtalk for iPhone does not allow voice mails which is in contrast to other messengers like Fring. There are no big differences in user interface and you don’t feel like using just a miniature version of Gtalk either. The iPhone version allow you to make a quick list of your frequent contacts, search your contacts and manage multiple conversations.

It should come as no surprise that there are many other IM clients too which have been optimized for iPhone such as Meebo, Agile and Giz5 and they have better features than gtalk client in anyway.

Create iPhone Ringtones on your own

Thursday, July 3rd, 2008 |

Today morning I was inspired to create a special ringtone, I looked up some options on the internet for iphone, I found some readily available and paid applications that let you create iphone ringtones.

Previously I have just used GarageBand to create some of my iphone ringtones, there is an application called PocketMac Ringtone Studio for iPhone. Which costs $14.95 but it doesn’t do anything that you can’t already do with GarageBand and creativity :)

However, PocketMac folks offer a 90-day “no questions” money back guarantee on their software. (more…)
