Garmin Nuvi running on gnome linux

Garmin Nuvi 8xx and Garmin Nuvi 5xxx is now running a flavor of Gnome Linux as reported on linuxdevices. The Garmin Linux source code page, also lists source code for version 2.6, 2.7, and 2.8 of the Nuvi 8xx software, as well as versions 3.7 and 3.8 for the Nuvi 5xxx.

GTV-580 sat navigation system with digital TV

GTV-580 is the latest new kind of GPS navigation system from GlobalSat. It has all the basic functions such as the SD memory expansion slot, basic multimedia features (WMA and JPG support), and the 4 hour battery life etc. etc. that exist on a bood GPS navigation system.

However, additionally the new GTV-580 also has high end specifications like a large 5 inch screen with 480×272 (WQVGA) resolution, bluetooth hands free connectivity to pair up with compatible phones, which includes services such as auto-reply mode, phonebook download, and music playback.
