Twitter co-founder Biz Stone has been reported to have spoken about the the their plans to finally commercialize on the vast user numbers that they have.

Stone said in an interview with the BBC that Twitter is considering two ways to monetize. The first is “licensing and syndication” for which they have already tying up with Google and Bing.

The second is offering commercial accounts which provide “a specific layer of access”, according to Stone.
“People are very curious about exactly how we make our money and we’re going to be entering into that this year,”.

“Twitter will always be free to everyone whether it’s commercial or personal. But you’ll be able to pay for an additional layer of access to learn more about your Twitter account - to get some feedback, to get some analytics so that you can become a better twitterer.”

Now we all know about that 140 character micro blogging service called Twitter and we have also seen so many of its copy cats. There is no dearth of Twitter based services either and some of them are even fortunate enough to get Venture Capital. Now, there’s is a new kid on the block which is not actually a Twitter clone or anything related to it but it shares DNA of thought and inspiration from Twitter.

Plinky calls itself your web enabler and unlike Twitter it doesn’t ask “What are you doing?” Plinky merely asks you certain prompt (i.e. a question or challenge) which you can answer. The questions are not super easy in a sense that you do have to apply your mind and often recollect something from your past in order to answer.

Plinnky has set the stage for virality by integrating with services like Facebook, Twitter and others and I am trying what Plinky holds for me. Luckily, I have registered the same user name on Plinky as I have on Twitter (@su). I will be trying it out for some time and give a deatiled analysis of this new kid in some time.

Cooliris is a great product company which has been shaping the way we interact with images for some time now. It started off with a Firefox extension which would make browsing images pretty fashionable and it has now also expanded support to Apple iPhone. What would happen if we combine Cooliris with the champion of images of web 2.0 Flicr? CoolFlick is the answer and it is a new website which integrates the trendy Cooliris way of display with the images on Flickr.

You can search for images on Coolflick which will retrieve images from Flickr and displays it in the fashion of Cooliris. I played with CoolFlick for some time on my Firfox web browser but it was being little crude and the system resources usage of Firefox had increased substantially.

Youtube has become the second most popular search engine just after Google if we consider the number of queries being done. This will certainly not amuse Yahoo which has just found its new CEO in Carol Bartz. However I would like to tell you guys about this web service called Tubegraph which allows users to dynamically rate videos.

Tubegraph puts a slider along with the embedded Youtube videos and you can rate the video by sliding the slider up or down. By doing this, a graph is created for every video which lets others to decide whether it’s worth viewing or not.

Tubegraph puts an average of the user’s opinions about the video at a particular time and thus it helps in forming an opinion about a particular video. The idea seems pretty nice and Youtube might consider implementing certain feature in Youtube videos. I’d personally love to see comments at a particular frame of a video.

It’s not easy keeping a site uptime always esp. when your site is popular or suddenly gets popular due to Digg or Stumbleupon. Twitter had almost become a joke amongst the netizens fot its notorious downtime.

Now Twitter has obviously learnt its lessons and it rarely gets out of action these days. But if you visit some site which doesn’t have a very good up-time record then you might wanna consider this new website called Ding It’s Up which supposedly sens you messages when a certain website goes down or when it comes back up.

Ding It’s Up can sens you alerts via e-mail, text and even sms (provided it supports your network carrier). It seems like a nice service but there are already players doing the same thing in the market. The fact that it’s free made me interested. I thought you might be interested.

We have realized that a huge chunk of RealGeek readers come from countries where English is not the primary language and thus we have tried to keep the language of blogposts simple to decipher understand. The primary purpose of web is and has been sharing knowledge and efforts have been made by websites of varied statures to make the information as accessible as possible.

I’d like to mention about two websites which might help you in getting more out of your daily web activity.

Common Craft is a blog which posts videos on various internet related stuff in “plain english.” The Common Craft guys have been making videos on stuff we know and interact with daily like blogs, social media and phishing etc. I recommend you watch the video below to get an idea about the work Common Craft is doing.

The other site I wanna talk about is Wikipedia which is, as we know, the greatest free encyclopedia on web. Most people just search on www.wikipedia.com which is the standard site and carries comprehensive articles. The articles on www.wikipedia.com are although written in a easy-to-understand manner but there’s a wikipedia sub-domain, www.simple.wikipedia.com which provides articles in relatively easier English.

The simple Wikipedia uses simple english and grammar which can be easily understood by people who are studying english. Since many people use Wikipedia as a reference site and learn from it so this simplification of english should help many folks.

I hope this would help you in year 2009.

Okay, I have been receiving quite a lot of requests from some of my friends about websites where you can see newest Hollywood, Boolywood and movies of other Woods free of cost. Of course these sites are not legal and that you might get yourself into trouble if you use any of these sites.

You can obviusoly take the help of P2P networks or BitTorrent in order to download the latest movies in a “less retail” manner but if you desire to watch it just once in your web browser then these sites can definitely help you. The quality of movies vary from site to site but usually its the same print that is available on all these websites which show you free English (mostly) movies.

For some of the sites mentioned below you need to have Divx video player installed in your system which you can download from the Divx website.
Joox is quite a respectable name in this notorious name. They don’t have huge collection like some of the other similar sites but since these guys tend to focus on good quality prints which we can safely assume after a look.
Watch Movies is another place which has a rating and reporting feature whether a particular link to the video worked or not. Unlike Joox which hosts full movies on its own, it just links to the other sites like movshare.
Movies24h is another site you can rely upon to watch free movies. This site also links to videos hosted on other’s servers. It actually links each video file to The Movies Empire which further links to movshare.

66stage is also a great resource to satisfy your urge to watch the latest flick without having to spend on tickets and pop corns.
Movieshare does the same thing as well and it links to the movie files hosted on zshare. You can find all the latest Holllywood flicks on this site. Actually this things goes for every other site on this list.
Watchit3 is also one site in this league of hundreds of sites which offer free Hollywood movies free of cost to watch. This site retrieves movie files hosted on Megavideo.
There are many more sites which do the same thing and if I haven’t added your favorite site to watch free movies then please leave a comment.

Popacular is a nice mashup which lists you the most popular delicious bookmarks and the most talked about links on twitter at one place. It takes those links from twitter which are being twittered the most. You can see some popular links of the hour or the day or all time. There is no search functionality in it which I would have liked but not bad to stay abreast with websites which are making news in that hour.
