The BL40 Chocolate also sports Wi-Fi and GPS, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and an FM transmitter. This Includes a virtual QWERTY keyboard in landscape mode (though it takes up most of the screen), and the all new dual-screen UI, which lets you look at two different menu items when in your email, messaging or schedule apps. Another neat addition is the ability to use gestures on the screen as shortcuts to particular apps.

LG too has joined the race, where manufacturer’s are rolling out exciting new handsets that run on Google’s Android mobile operating system. This is LG’s first attempt with android smartphones, the new LG-GW620.

The launch follows the debut of Motorola’s first Android-based smartphone, Cliq, which was announced last week. LG’s South Korean rival Samsung Electronics has already launched an Android smartphone, as has High Tech Computer (HTC) of Taiwan. The new mobile phone OS is aimed at making Internet services such as social networking sites, e-mail, online maps and particularly Google services more easily accessible on smartphones.

The LG-GW620 sports a 3-inch touch screen and slide-out QWERTY keypad. Few other details about the smartphone were immediately available.

The new smartphone is LG’s first with the Android OS installed. The company said the new OS gives it the flexibility to offer more choices to users. LG has traditionally used Microsoft Windows Mobile in smartphones.

LG “will be introducing a minimum of 13 new smartphones over the next 16 months that utilize Microsoft’s Windows Mobile,” the company said in the release.

The latest version of Windows Mobile, 6.5, will be widely available in new smartphones launching Oct. 6, Microsoft said early this month. The new version of the OS takes over from Windows Mobile 6.1.

A lot of mobile phone consumers today choose form and styling over specs and features. Well, perhaps we can say that majority of women these days, especially those on their teen years, would really choose to have a more stylish phone than really having new and high-end specs.

So, now the LG Electronics unveils another folding form factor mobile phone with the release of the LG KG376 phone. The LG KG376 seems to be designed for use by teens, particularly the women due to its external fine graphics work. The design is made of round flowers and twisting stems of red color.

Looking at this phone would tell that this is catered to women with its purple case and pink filigree accents. Coming as a clamshell phone also makes it trendy and feminine; but as said, other than that, features remain enough to call it a decent mobile phone. It will probably have 128 x 128 pixels and an external light. We’re not sure if this will have any camera to complete, but as said, you’d probably choose to have it because of its form factor.

It has a compact size which should be handy to handle for cellphone owners and weighs only 73 grams. It also comes with FM radio. It has an internal memory that can accommodate up to 1 MB.

Still, pricing and date availability is still unknown as of the moment.

The world’s first 3G watch phone i.e. LG G910 which was launched at CES2009 is now available for users in Europe. The device brings some of our childhood memories when we loved James Bond and his cool gadgets. LG G910 is any geek’s dream and if you don’t want it then you are just not a geek. You might be a nerd, but not a geek.

Now that I am not gonna define the difference between a nerd and a geek in detail, it’d suffice for the moment that geeks have fashion sense. Anyhow this LG G910 is now available for the users in Europe through the carrier, Orange at the “paltry” sum of €899 ($1,290). If you are a geek with some monkey money lying around then we’d say go grab it. As for us lesser mortals we’d rather just stare at her.

The LG BL40 which was captured on video some time back has now been made official by the LG. The phone had already appeared on Youtube sometime back but LG has now put all speculations about the efficacy of that video to rest. LG BL40 derives trhe soul from LG Chocolate while its claim for fame is its 21:9 aspect ratio display along with the screen resolution of 800×345.

As we had mentioned before LG BL40 is part of the designer Black Label Series. It has a 4-inch wide screen, 5 megapixel camera with Schneider-Kreuznach lens, 7.2Mbps UMTS/HSDPA connectivity, Wi-Fi, and aGPS. It happens to have Flash UI which we learn about more once it hits the market. LG BL40 will be launched in Q3 2009 in 54 countries worldwide.

One of the handset of much publicized Black Label series of LG has appeared in the wild. LG is planning to launch some designer under the Black Label series and LG BL42 could be one of the first handset to hit the European markets. LG BL42 derives a lot in the looks department from the LG Chocolate and it’s no surprise considering LG Chocolate has been one of the most successful phone for the company in recent times. It seems that LG is aligning its designs with that of Chocolate and somehow trying to evolve on the same lines.

LG BL42 would run on Java and it has a display screen of 240×320 pixels. The phone has supposedly 5 megapixel camera. Not much is known about this handset and details may only emerge in future. The phone might hit in Netherlands in few months from now.

The smart folks at LG thought that they should also have an Application Store just like Apple, Blackberry, Palm and Nokia. So they have finally launched an application store which is for the time being only available to users in Singapore and Australia. The store happens to have both free and the paid applications. I am cheap bastard so I checked the free applications first and there are 118 free apps at the time of writing. Surprisingly it does have some useful apps in its free collection which is the first thing that matters to me about any application store.

The apps on the store are mainly for the smartphones and it only shows two devices namely LG GM730 and LG KS20 on the website right now. LG is planning to launch around 10 smartphones this year alone and we also heard that they intend to reach No. 2 spot in the crowded Mobilephone space. The application store of LG is just a beginning and is still in beta. It will be expanded to support more countries soon and then things might get more excited.

The delicious LG Chocolate will have a new cousin in the market by the name of BL40. There is no official word by the company on this but a video on youtube as appeared which seems quite genuine. LG Chocolate has been one of the most popular phone worldwide for the country. The phone is surprisingly long and that is because of the 21:9 aspect ratio display. Not many companies have produced mobile devices with that kind of aspect ratio display. The resolution of LG BL40 is 800 x 345.

LG Chocolate BL40 will be part of the designer LG’S Black Lablel series. The phone has a 4″ touch full screen with active Flash UI as you can see in the video. Apart from that it has multitouch, AGPS, WiFi, 7.2Mbps HSDPA with a possible scratch resistant screen. The last few words sound like music to my ears but we shall hold on to our horses till it gets official. It has a generous 5 megapixel camera which seems to be a norm these days. I don’t know about guys but the phone indeed looks awesome in the video. Simply Delicious.

LG Electronics has announced today that it will unveil a next-generation model of the LG Chocolate device plans to bring back on the market and that it is currently working on the development of the next-generation such handset. The decision to bring Chocolate back on the market comes from the fact that the device is the most successful mobile phone the company has come up with until now.

According to the company, the new mobile phone will be designed by the same team that created the original Chocolate. Moreover, it seems that the upcoming device is expected to feature a new design, meant to take advantage of the features packed inside the handset, as well as on the performance levels it would be able to offer to users. The new LG Chocolate will be a disruptive force in conventional mobile screens in an effort to maximize usability while inheriting the original minimalist-inspired style and iconic design of its predecessor. LG says, adding that this is the fourth model in the LG Black Label Series.

The new Chocolate should hit the shelves in August, the company says, while also adding that more details will become available in the meantime.

The story of LG in the mobile phone space is not really as exciting as Apple but it’s nevertheless a story worth our attention. LG has been one mobile phone manufacturer which experimented slowly and steadily to realize the needs of consumers by launching products across the spectrum. They cater to both the premium mobile phone user as well as the entry level user with various devices. This strategy was made to perfection by Nokia and it seems that LG has also learnt a thing or two in this department from their biggest competitor.

In a recent interview to a Korean Yohan News Agency, the LG’s head of Mobile Ahn Seung-kwon has revealed the future course of action of the company. Some of the important details that revealed in the interview are:

LG is planning to launch a “Black Label” phone that will compete with smart phones like Apple iPhone. Many companies have tried to do that and we’d be all ears and eyes to see how LG fairs in this.

LG also aims to reach the second spot in the crowded mobile space. The second spot is currently held by Sony Ericsson. LG hopes to beat Sony Ericsson by the year 2012.

LG will also launch the third version of their luxury phone Prada.

LG will launch ultra premium range of handsets which will be in the league of Nokia’s Vertu. So they will basically be creating some handsets with all gold and rubies and diamonds which the rich and famous can boast of.

LG has given us some reasons to be little excited for the next few months.
