The Samsung W880 is the world’s first 12 megapixel camera with 3x optical zoom. It supports a hardware Mode dial and a real zoom lever that gives a real feel like of a camera . It is a mix  between a the mobile phone and slim digicam.

Currently, Samsung W880 is South Korea bound only, it’s enough to give us a taste of what’s coming in the shape of the rumored Samsung M8920, which should make it to West sometime next year but will carry Wi-Fi and GPS.

Samsung W880 AMOLED 12M consists all mechanical elements of a point-and-shoot camera, but still has enough room left for the phone parts. It’s not the first phone to achieve that but it’s the first 12-megapixel with the added 3x optical zoom and xenon flash.

The Samsung W880 has advanced imaging functions too like tracking touch autofocus, 720p@30 fps video recording, 3.3″ big AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with WVGA resolution.

The phone has tri-band GSM and support for UMTS, those are meant for roaming only - the AMOLED 12M is for South Korea only. We will be on the watch for the global version coming in the beginning of next year.

Samsung OmniaPRO B7330 is the newest Windows Mobile handset that Samsung is offering. Unlike the previous in series Omnia II I8000 and OmniaPRO B7320 models, it will come with the latest OS version.

The device is aimed at both business as well layman users, who require a feature rich cell phone that will allow comfy messaging and help them bring some order to their daily routines.

Like other handsets by the same manufacturer, it comes with personalized interface that makes it easier and more pleasing to work with. Samsung OmniaPRO B7330 has external glossy plastic covering and gradient colors.

Samsung OmniaPRO B7330 carries 2.62-inch, square screen with resolution of 320×320 pixels. The buttons of the hardware QWERTY keyboard are aligned in four rows and their slanting mimicking the RIM BlackBerry Bold 9000.

Samsung OmniaPRO B7330 has microUSB port, volume rocker, microSD card slot and also a camera shutter, it has a 3.2-megapixel camera.

Verizon Wireless announced the expansion of their QWERTY phone portfolio, the older Samsung phones that they hold have done good in the past year, and this effort is for further expansion, they have introduced the TouchWIZ-enabled Samsung Rogue and the entry-level Qwerty phone Samsung Intensity.

Samsung Rogue TouchWIZ phone has a 3.1-inch WVGA AMOLED touchscreen, slide-out QWERTY thumbboard, Full HTML Web browser, 3-megapixel camera and a microSD slot supporting up to 16GB cards.

Additionally, the handset offers one-touch access to social networking sites via shortcut widgets, a file viewer for viewing Microsoft Office and Adobe PDF documents, as well as three pre-loaded games like, Need For Speed Undercover, Resident Evil: Degeneration and Tetris and Dice.

The Samsung Intensity is an entry-level QWERTY-slider of the SMS and IM oriented kind. The phone will sport a 2.1-inch screen, QWERTY keypad with dedicated Messaging key and Favorites key, 1.3-megapixel camera and a microSD slot supporting up to 16GB cards. It’s also worth noting that this is a 1xRTT phone with a screen resolution of 176 by 220 pixels (A.K.A a GPRS phone in the GSM world).

The Samsung Rogue and Samsung Intensity are available immediately and are selling for $200 and $80 prices respectively.

Samsung Mobile has also jumped in the increasingly crowded mobile apps store market. Samsung is most likely trying to create an app environment around its high end phones like Samsung Omnia. It has released few touch screen handsets in the mid segment where the company finds itself more often.

The Samsung application store will debut in the European markets of England, France and Italy. The service is likely to be extended to more than 30 countries in Europe after that. The application store will be available at Samsung Apps once it gets activated. The Samsung Omnia users will have to upgrade their devices by downloading and installing a mobile client for the application store.

Samsung claims to debut with over 300 mobile applications and some big names do appear in the list of apps going to be available. The gaming publishers like Gameflot and Electronic Arts will be seen with their games once the store gets opened. Handmark, TAITO, Paragon SW, Capcom, Com2us, Prompt, Pearson Longman, Bokan Tech and Diotek are other application providers which will be selling or giving away their apps for Samsung devices. We shall know more about the quality of apps when the store is opened to public.

Samsung released another affordable touchscreen phone just like Samsung S5230 Star, meet the Samsung S3650 is different but is definitely a budget phone. It’s compact and comes in many rare color options. Priced at 200 Euros. We heard that it is releasing before 10 September 2009.

Samsung S3650 (code: Corby)  is a pretty unique looking handset with the front  painted black while the rear panel has shining yellow.

Samsung S3650 has a 2.8-inch QVGA touch display, a 2 megapixel camera, quad-band GSM connectivity, Bluetooth, FM radio and microSD card slot. The S3650 is only 13mm thin and weighs 92 grams in an all rounded shape.

Samsung S3650 also comes with the social networking integration including MySpace, Facebook and YouTube, targeting the youth.

It’s not often that Samsung treads the BlackBerry way so it is always interesting to see when they launch a QWERTY keyboard. For some reason they have never been able to make any significant mark among the business mobile users but companies know that good money is involved in this niche. The German folks at Areamobile got hold of some leaked images of Samsung Omnia Pro B7330 and omigosh it looks pretty similar to BlackBerry Curve.

It is however the successor of Samsung Omnia Pro B7320 and in all probability it will be an update of the same. It is also possible that it will be marketed in few markets only in Europe such as Germany. The significant update is known so far is that it will be powered by WinMo 6.5 while the B7320 was running on WinMo 6.1 OS. It might hit certain markets in the mid-August.

Other specs of the Samsung Omnia Pro B7330 are a 2.63 inch TFT display with a screen resolution of 320×320 pixels. It will have a 3.2 MP camera. It will have the goodness of WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth and microSD card support. The device measures at 115 x 59 x 10,8mm which makes it little bigger than Nokia E71. The price is not known yet.

Also joining the rat race, Samsung released a Software Development Kit for its touchscreen-based TouchWiz phones that will let developers develop widgets for Samsung phones.

SDK also includes the ability for developers to have access to specifications, documentation, and a discussion board. The widget developer environment is based on W3C widget standards.

The company is going to host a developer summit for its TouchWiz widget developers in San Francisco that runs September 11-13 with an entry deadline of August 31. Interested developers can browse to innovator.samsungmobile.com to download the software kit or for more information on the event.

Yesterday, Samsung Mobile USA and AT&T have announced the Samsung Solstice A887, a phone that we saw just a few days ago. It comes to AT&T’s lineup with a full 3.0 touch screen and provides a landscape virtual QWERTY keyboard, as well as Samsung’s TouchWiz user interface, which enables users to enjoy fast access to social networks like Facebook or MySpace through a series of widgets. In addition, the phone also comes with access to mobile broadband, along with support for AT&T Navigator, AT&T Mobile Music with Napster Mobile and eMusic Mobile.

The new mobile phone also comes with multiple messaging options, including Mobile Email, IM and MMS, and sports a 2.0 megapixel photo snapper with video recording, accelerometer, Bluetooth technology, a microSD memory card slot for up to 16GB of additional storage space, as well as dual-band 3G connectivity and quad-band GSM technology.

“Samsung is proud to launch the new Samsung Solstice, the next handset in our line-up of touch screen devices at AT&T,” said Omar Khan, senior vice president, Strategy and Product Management, Samsung Telecommunications America . “The sleek, compact Solstice brings a rich web browsing and instant access to your favorite social networking sites through widgets and Samsung’s innovative TouchWiz user experience.”

The Samsung Solstice will become available for acquisition on AT&T starting August 2, at a price tag of $99.99 upon the signing of a two-year service agreement and after a $50 mail-in rebate in the form of an AT&T Promotion Card.

Samsung has just announced a special edition of the Samsung Ultra S series called S7350, which is in all likely hood targeted to the ladies. This will actually be called the Samsung Anycall Ultra S S7350H Elegant Edition and how else would women want to see it than in pink.

This phone actually comes in Sakura Pink version, and aside from that, it also comes with a pink leather pouch and a makeup mirror. This also comes with elegant font types, “romantic mobile theme” and “smart seasonal wallpapers,” which is said to automatically change according to the upcoming calendar event, such as wallpapers for Valentine’s Day, Christmas, New Year’s Eve, and more.

Other than that, everything remains the same as the first release. This also has 2.4-inch WQVGA screen, 3G, GPS, 5-megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash, and microSD card slot that can support up to 16GB.

There’s no announcement about the pricing, but let’s expect this Samsung Ultra S S7350H Elegant Edition to be a little expensive than the original.
