O2 users who also happen to tweet would love to hear that it will be providing free twitter updates to its users from August. The users can choose what tweets they want to receive on their handsets. They can receive tweets from their friends, @mentions, and direct messages via SMS. As is mentioned before such sms updates will be free of cost but the consumers will have to shell out money if they wish to update their own status or reply to the others’ tweets.

Twitter was essentially created with the idea of a network where users can post their status updates through the mobile devices. In spite of that most people use twitter from web or some desktop application like Tweetdeck or Seesmic Desktop to access twitter. Twitter certainly hopes to increase the reach of its network and this development seems like one more step towards realizing it. Today some of the twitter accounts have been hacked and certain documents have been stolen from the gmail account of the Twitter founders. One of the leaked document says that Twitter hopes to be the first web startup to cross one billion users.

Twitter will be betting high on collaborating with mobile service providers across the world to help the users access the service. We can hope Twitter to form more such agreements in the future.

Honda has begun limited mass production of a hydrogen fuel cell powered vehicle. The new Honda FCX Clarity will be the world’s first commercially available hydrogen fuel cell car.

There is a plan to deliver only 200 of the vehicles during the next three years. A few dozen will be made available in the US and Japan during the next one year.
These cars will be using hydrogen gas as their fuel which is compressed for storage inside the fuel cell. Honda has devised a technology for producing hydrogen from natural gas.

The fuel cells charge batteries to drive an electric motor. With full charge the car has a maximum range of 280 miles, according to Honda.
