I have been getting the following error on Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome when I try to open the Google Reader link from Gmail.

This error appears everytime whenever I try to access Google Reader from Gmail. Okay, let me tell you what happens step by step.

1. I open my gtalk.
2. I do right click on the gtalk icon in the taskbar and then click “Inbox.”
3. The gmail opens up in my default web browser.
4. The gmail window opens up and the gmail text appears after the Orkut on the top left side of page.

5. Now, when I click on Documents or try to access Google Reader then the error message shows up. This is what that has been happening with me.

Now, any security conscious person won’t Proceed anyway which is the option provided to you with the error message.

Other spooky think about this error message is that If the gmail text appears first, i.e. before Orkut, then this error never appears. I mean if it happens like as shown in the image below.

Now, the solution that I have found to correct is that you should go by this route if you are seeing the gmail image number one where it appears after Orkut on the top.

Click  Web > Go to Google.com (it is shown along with About Google at the end) > Gmail

This will bring the gmail initially in the order and you won’t bump into that SSL error error too.
