While there are already many alternatives of using Yahoo Messenger on the iPhone, but an official application just for the iphone has come out, you can see the familiar purple and yellow theme and all the more familiar yahoo features.

Most of the features from the desktop version have been carried over to the iPhone’s smaller screen including emoticons, avatars, custom status, invisibility, and the option to send SMS to contacts.  The application will also allow sending of pictures clicked using the iPhone’s camera.
